Bridge Design Project

     This project was completed for my Statics and Mechanics of Materials 1 class. For this project we were assigned with designing a bridge that maximized strength and minimizing cost. The criteria for this bridge design was withstanding a 100 lbf load applied at the center of the bridge. This project challenged us to use the tools we had learned in class to distribute the stresses evenly enough to each truss member without exceeding the yield stress of the bridge material. For this project I took the role of Engineer, in which I came up with preliminary designs, conducted stress analysis and designed and analyzed the final bridge design in SolidWorks.
