Power Plant Design Project
This project was done for my Applied Thermodynamics course. The goal of this project was to design the most cost efficient power plant that meets the design requirements. To do this our group analyzed two steam power generation cycles, a system with a reheat cycle and system with a closed feedwater heater cycle. Our power plant designs had to fulfill the 6.2 MW electrical output and 14W heat output requirements by optimizing all sections of the cycles. This project required us to use the knowledge obtained in our current and previous thermodynamics courses and make use of the Engineering Equation Software (EES) to conduct our parametric study. For this project a group mate and I worked designing and optimizing the reheat cycle system. If you are interested in learning more about this project, the final report is attached below.
